Routines Can Rein In the Chaos
Jan 04, 2025
This is the third post in the series I am currently writing to help you create and maintain a tidy home. In previous posts, I have written about starting small and staying consistent, and regularly decluttering! This post about creating routines falls right in line in the series. Routines provide structure and stability, improve productivity, reduce decision fatigue, and enhance time management.
Routines, routines, routines...
Establishing daily routines can help streamline your day-to-day tasks and keep your home tidy. Routines do not have to be long and drawn out. They can be short and small tasks that are done in the same order each day (thus routine). The smallest of routines done with consistency add up to make a great impact on not only your home but your mental well-being. Routines help reduce stress, anxiety, and decision fatigue.
I suggest creating a morning and evening routine that includes quick tidying sessions to reset your space. Examples: make the bed in the morning before heading to work; wipe the toothpaste out of the sink (morning and evening), fold the load of towels (and put them away) as they finish tumbling, clean the kitchen counter nightly before bed time.
These small routines will help you with the maintenance and tidiness of your home.
What small routines can you incorporate today that will add up to make a big impact over time? I'd love to know the routines you are planning to incorporate. Send me a message today and let me know!
