OWL began with my love for everything organization and my husband's encouragement to go out on a limb and put my experience into a business.  I am Leslie, owner and lead organizer for Organizing With Leslie (OWL).  This business has been a lifetime in the making, I just didn't know I was preparing for such work!  I am an organized person by nature.  My brain just sorts, declutters, labels, and stores things naturally.  After hearing repeated comments from people about the organization in my home, my scheduling, my career, and my family life, I realized that there was a need to assist people in having less stress in their lives by surrounding themselves in decluttered, organized spaces with organized plans.  

 

So how did OWL become a reality?  In 2020, my family sold our long time family home.  In late 2020, we began construction on a new home that we moved into in June of 2021.  Two months after moving in, our home was "remodeled" by Hurricane Ida who felt it looked better with 4 trees in it.  We then moved out of our new home, rebuilt our new home, and moved back in early 2022.  Through this time, there was a ton of organization needed in multiple areas.  I built skills and improved upon other skills I already had.  I learned what worked in one space may not work in another space.  I learned that people who are building, remodeling, moving, may have too much stuff and may need assistance to structure and order their own spaces to work for them.  The idea for becoming a professional organizer began to flicker.

 

Fast forward a few months...  my husband watched a series that I had been watching about professional organizers and how they help their clients.  He said to me, "You should be doing that.  That is everything you love to do and are so good at."  So, the flame of my idea began to grow brighter.   Around this same time, people would come into our home and comment on the organization systems that they noticed.  They commented on how tidy things were and how everything had its own place.  This was fuel to my dimly burning light.

 

I began to research.  I began to learn about the business of organizing for clients.  I began to allow myself to dream of the possibilities.  While discussing my ideas with my husband one evening, it became clear that I would officially open the business. That evening a name was given to the company - Organizing With Leslie (OWL).  The name came about because I wanted to be very clear in our name about the purpose of the company and what we do.  Organizing was a clear word that seemed easily understandable.  Leslie, well that's an easy one... it's me!  The WITH was the most important piece to the name.  It was the word that I knew had to be in the name.  "With" is the word that people need for the long run.  Throughout any organizing project we work WITH our clients to ensure they are getting the results that they desire and can maintain.  We add value to our clients by teaching them, going through processes with them, and providing follow up support once the project is complete.  This helps to ensure the success of our clients in using and maintaining their spaces and plans.

 

OWL is my dream I was born to dream, but didn't know until now!
