This is the second post in the series I am currently writing to help you create and maintain a tidy home. In the previous post, I wrote about starting small and staying consistent. This post follows suit. Consistency is important in so many areas of life, including decluttering!

Regularly Declutter...

Regular decluttering is key to maintaining an organized home. Donate or discard items you no longer need or use.

I love when I open my Facebook app and see my clients posting items that they are decluttering. It is so much easier to routinely declutter rather than to have an entire home full of items that needs to be purged.

One strategy is to declutter one area per month.

For example:

month 1 - children's bathroom;

month 2 - adults' bathroom;

month 3 - children's playroom.

I like to go through closets during the change of seasons and purge clothes and shoes that are no longer wanted. After the 1st of the year, I like to go through paperwork and purge as I am preparing for tax filing.

What area will you declutter this month? Write it on your calendar and to do list. I would love to hear from you when you accomplish decluttering this area!

Stay tuned to this blog for more tips on how to maintain a tidy home!
